The fall fashion season has begun and Reston Town Center shops are ready with some of the season’s top trends! Fall Fashion Week 2012 taught us to keep the bright accent colors from our spring wardrobe, to embrace the color wine, and get cozy with patterned and textured looks.

We took all that advice and hand-picked an easy fall look that is perfect for weekend outings, wine tastings, casual dinner or just enjoying your shopping day at Reston Town Center.

Starting with a neutral-colored palette, we added color and shine with accessories and outerwear. The jeans are 1969 sexy boot cut jeans from Gap, which create a slimming look on the legs with a dark wash and boot cut.  Because we were using a grey for the blouse, we found this tweed textured top from Ann Taylor that is perfect for work or casual afternoons.

The statement piece is the wine trench from Banana Republic that mimics the hues of fall and conjures images of crisp, fall walks. We love the large collar and the versatility of the removable belt to accent the waist.

To bring a pop of color to the outfit and keep a bit of summer close to our hearts, we chose this Izumi round double drop pendant necklace from South Moon Under. For the accessory that every woman needs, we chose a foresty hunter green leatherette satchel from Francesca’s Collections that can be a cross-body, handheld, or shoulder bag that adds yet another blend of color to the outfit and can easily be worn into the winter.

In fall, good boots are a must and we jumped at these chocolate Stevie lace-up booties with goldtone hardware from Banana Republic. It has a feminine look with a wide heel for stability – perfect for looking good while being able to trek for miles. But if your feet do happen to get tired, you could always slip into these Gigi lavish bronze skimmer flats from Chico’s with snakeskin texture.

And last but not least, we accessorized with hints of gold sparkle to tie in the hardware on the satchel and shoes. For earrings we chose pave goldtone drop hoops from White House Black Market that have a subtle sparkle that won’t compete with your bright smile. The chunky croc-etched toggle bracelet from Talbots adds a higher-polished shine to the wrist with 10kt gold plating and works with the snakeskin print of the shoes. We love that even fall jewelry has texture to it!

It’s no real surprise to people already living in Reston, but the rest of the world is being reminded that Reston is one of the best small cities to live in America! Our master-planned community ranked seventh in the recent poll by CNN Money – go Reston!

Ranked on factors like strong job opportunities, great schools, low crime and plenty to do, it’s no wonder Reston was rated so highly. Our “uber-urban downtown,” (aka Reston Town Center!) offers shops, restaurants, live concert series, wine and beer festivals, seasonal ice skating and family events year-round. Add in our unique, creative neighborhoods with sidewalks and quiet streets and ongoing recreation of pools, miles of trails, parks, lakes and the W&OD winding through it and you wonder how we didn’t make number one! With new companies moving into the area creating new jobs all the time, it’s also a great place to start a career.

Recently ranked as one of Four Square’s “Top 10 Romantic Spots in the US,” Reston offers its visitors and residents a unique setting that is both intimate and urban. Designed as a community to foster connectivity, relationships both new and old can grow while a steady stream of new people keeps life and experiences fresh. After all, the people you are with are often what add the ‘awesome’ to where you are!

As the locals know, Reston is only 30 minutes outside Washington D.C. and acts as a respite from the bustling city life. It’s also a mere 10 minutes from Washington Dulles Airport and within the next few years, the new metro extension will connect all three easily.

Thank you to all the Restonians for making Reston the “best place to live”!  For those unfamiliar, come visit and see for yourself!
