The fall fashion season has begun and Reston Town Center shops are ready with some of the season’s top trends! Fall Fashion Week 2012 taught us to keep the bright accent colors from our spring wardrobe, to embrace the color wine, and get cozy with patterned and textured looks.

We took all that advice and hand-picked an easy fall look that is perfect for weekend outings, wine tastings, casual dinner or just enjoying your shopping day at Reston Town Center.

Starting with a neutral-colored palette, we added color and shine with accessories and outerwear. The jeans are 1969 sexy boot cut jeans from Gap, which create a slimming look on the legs with a dark wash and boot cut.  Because we were using a grey for the blouse, we found this tweed textured top from Ann Taylor that is perfect for work or casual afternoons.

The statement piece is the wine trench from Banana Republic that mimics the hues of fall and conjures images of crisp, fall walks. We love the large collar and the versatility of the removable belt to accent the waist.

To bring a pop of color to the outfit and keep a bit of summer close to our hearts, we chose this Izumi round double drop pendant necklace from South Moon Under. For the accessory that every woman needs, we chose a foresty hunter green leatherette satchel from Francesca’s Collections that can be a cross-body, handheld, or shoulder bag that adds yet another blend of color to the outfit and can easily be worn into the winter.

In fall, good boots are a must and we jumped at these chocolate Stevie lace-up booties with goldtone hardware from Banana Republic. It has a feminine look with a wide heel for stability – perfect for looking good while being able to trek for miles. But if your feet do happen to get tired, you could always slip into these Gigi lavish bronze skimmer flats from Chico’s with snakeskin texture.

And last but not least, we accessorized with hints of gold sparkle to tie in the hardware on the satchel and shoes. For earrings we chose pave goldtone drop hoops from White House Black Market that have a subtle sparkle that won’t compete with your bright smile. The chunky croc-etched toggle bracelet from Talbots adds a higher-polished shine to the wrist with 10kt gold plating and works with the snakeskin print of the shoes. We love that even fall jewelry has texture to it!

You can re-create this or a similar look at the shops right here in Reston Town Center. And if you’re looking for some high-fashion exposure, Fashion’s Night Out is just around the corner on September 6. It’s a celebration of all that is fashion with special limited-edition products, events, celebrity appearances and unforgettable performances all over the world. Whether you are looking for high fashion or reliable clothing staples, as you embrace this year’s fall styles, you can easily find your cool-weather look at Reston Town Center.

It’s August, which means school is almost here, which means summer is almost over! So before you start planning back-to-school shopping and carpools, it’s time to get your last summer adventure – why not plan a staycation here at Reston Town Center?

Staying in town is the new exotic vacation – low travel costs, no airports lines and no beach traffic!  Relaxing at the Hyatt Regency Reston could be just what you need to unwind, especially since all of Reston Town Center is within walking distance for shopping and dining, salons, fun activities nearby, shady strolls in the evenings and plenty of events for entertainment.

It’s easy to spend an entire afternoon shopping with more than 50 shops – there’s something for everyone in the family.  And when your feet need a break, there are more than 30 restaurants spanning a cultural rainbow of cuisine. Several of the restaurants have beautiful patios to relax, recharge and enjoy the charm and elegance around you.

If you need a day to recover from all that walking and deciding whether or not you like those shoes, one of the full-service beauty salons & spas can take care of you. Try a cut and style, mani/pedi, or the massages and stress-relieving treatments that will make you want to stay forever.

For the more explorative minds, only nine miles away from Reston is the largest collection of aviation and space artifacts in the world at the National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center.  This museum houses aircrafts like The Discovery space shuttle and the Enola Gay, the first aircraft to drop an atomic bomb, while offering several IMAX movies and a flight simulator.

If you’re looking to take the kids for a day of outdoor activities, the Reston Zoo is three miles down the road with walking paths and exhibits, a petting barn and zoofari wagon rides. The 30-acre outdoor zoo hosts barn and exotic animals of all kinds like llama & alpacas, monkeys & lemurs, ostrich, rhea & emu, piglets, porcupines, lambs, kangaroos, goats and more. For more kids activities in Reston Town Center, check out this blog post.

And for those relaxing evenings, maybe take in a movie or a weekend concert.  Bow Tie Cinemas has several showings of the most recent releases in newly renovated theaters with options for the whole family. If you’d rather be outside enjoying the weather as the sun sets, grab a blanket and check out the Concerts on the Town on Saturday nights from 7:30 – 10 pm in the Pavilion with musical styles ranging from 40s hits to flamenco and New Orleans-style swing.

Can you feel the relaxation calling you? Don’t hesitate, just book a room and send summer off with one last adventure!
